A couple weeks ago, our wonderful parents took us on a family vacation to La Costa. SO GENEROUS and SO FUN! What a wonderful 4 days. Initially I thought, ahhhhh, a needed break from reality. As some time went on, my heart changed. It hit me. This is my reality. I am so blessed in every way. Surrounded by people who love us unconditionally everywhere we turn. Family, friends, church, friends of friends…many of whom I have never met. We have loving parents that serve us and gift us with so much more than we deserve. Both sets of parents are unbelievably generous, sacrificial, and love and pray for us without ceasing. I think I healed more in 4 days than I have in 3 months.
We started off getting perty. Halle had her first mani/ pedi. AND LOVED IT.
We were surprised with a train ride to Solana Beach. B was interested for all of 10 minutes until he got the baseball itch and we had to go over every American league and National league MLB player and team. Weston was in awe of the coastline. My kid.
Everyone just looks so thrilled to be ours. I swear our kids like us.
The SD zoo…so much fun! Between all those episodes of Wild Kratts, National Geographic and Duck Dynasty, I felt like I could have narrated the bus tour.
We all couldn’t figure out if this was a boy or girl. After 10 minutes, I decided to teach my littles it isn’t nice to stare.
This guy was having my kind of year. Sorry Buddy.
I had to take this picture-my favorite bible verse is Isaiah 40:31.
But they who wait for the Lord will renew their strength,
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not be faint.
The Lion will lay with the Lamb indeed.
At dinner…I think this means we won?
Upon leaving the restaurant Sunday morning, I caught a glimpse of this and may have giggle-snorted out loud.
That’s my girrrrrl. Totally practical.
One of the highlights was getting this hand….If you have played spades you realize I hit the jackpot. In full dork effect, I had to take a picture. 😉
Loves her Papa.
He might love her too.
Oh, and this happened….because I can walk now!!!! Weeeeeee!!!
Thank you Lord for that much needed time away as a familia!
